Snow

The weather has really got in the way of progress. Our iceman filly (aptly named) Frosty Reception is still waiting to run. Psychosis will hopefully have her first run on the 16TH December at Towcester.

Our Norse Dancer 2yo called Morganna has just gone into training with a view to running next season.

Lets hope this weather goes as quick as it arrived and stays away.

Yemeni Princess

Yemeni Princess has returned home after a successful first season including 3 wins and numerous places. The photo right shows her winning first time out at Lingfield. We think she will be a much better filly next year and look forward to her re appearance.
Ponte Di Rosa is due to run at Newmarket and we look forward to her run.
Frosty reception our 2yo by Iceman has gone back into training and is one to look forward too. She has grown and filled out into a nice filly and should give a good account of herself when she first runs as she is showing a lot at Brendan's on the gallops.

Yemeni Princess

We were delighted with Yemeni's fifth at Newbury on Friday over a trip far too short for her. The plan is either to run at York next week or go to goodwood on th 26th August. This will be her last run of the year. Having won 3 and placed numerous times it has been a great first season for her.
Fleeting Echo wins at Newbury, bred and raised at Woodhaven we were delighted for the owners Mr. & Mrs. Haycock. She just keeps improving.

A great winning week, AGAIN!!

YEMENI PRINCESS,  just goes from strength to strength winning again at Newbury over the weekend. Given a patient ride by Russ Kennemore she hit the front 2 furlongs out going away to win well. She looks a very progressive filly and we are looking forward to her next run.

PONTE DI ROSA

Delighted with our new 2yo running 6th first time out in a very hot maiden at Newbury. We are very hopeful that the 6 lengths she lost by can be reversed on her next run and I am sure you wil see a much sharper filly

Saturday, June 19, 2010

A great winning week

A Fantastic week for the stud as YEMENI PRINCESS, gets her head in front at Warwick. Well ridden by Russ Kennemore she quickened up in the final furlong to win going away. The plan was to go hurdling with her but that has been put on hold as she has a very good pedigree and we may stick to the flat with her now.

FLEETING ECHO was another winner for the stud, having been bred and reared here this tenacious filly won at Goodwood. I think listed races may be on the agenda for this daughter of Beat Hollow. He dam has just been scanned in foal to Elnadim and has a yearling by Alhaarth.

Friday, June 11, 2010

Yemeni Princess, shown here was supposed to run yesterday at Nottingham, but due to the rain was withdrawn. It was a real shame as it turned out the winner has finished behind us on 2 occasions now and she is in great form..

Good run at Newbury

We were very pleased with Yemeni Princess's run at Newbury only beaten 2 lengths running on. She had to be switched in the last furlong which cost her a few lengths.
All the foals  have been micro chipped on Tuesday with only minor injuries to us!!.
Methodical had her 30 day scan on which we could see a heart beat so she is well and truly in foal

All in foal

We have had all our mares that we covered scanned in foal this week.
Sempre Sorriso to Elnadim
Toleration to Byron
Methodical to Norse Dancer.

All our foals are doing well and enjoying the milder climate will take some more pictures this week.

Yemeni Princess is due to run next saturday at newbury, so we are all looking forward to that. If you are planning to go let me know so we can meet for a drink, I drink Guiness!!!

Monday, May 10, 2010

Orphina and her new foal enjoy the sunshine. All the foals are doing very well and hopefully we can have a nice summer to help them along. We were very please with the run of Yemeni Princess last Monday. She just got caught but was giving the winner a stone in weight. We may either go to bath next Monday or Newbury the following Saturday. Our 2yo Ponte di Rosa is back cantering and we are looking forward to her running soon. We are trying to set up a new syndicate with George Foster who trains in Scotland. george used to train En Vacances so it would be nice if he trained one of the offspring.

Pictures of Plasma transfusion

New Foals transfusion

Our recent birth has had to have a plasma transfusion today. All seems to have gone to plan, just a bit stressful for everyone. The mare was running milk for 2 days before she gave birth, so the foal did not get enough antibodies from her.

Finally the last foal born!!

The last foal born 10.30 this evening a colt by Norse Dancer out of Orphina.
Can take my lucky hat off now!!

MORE TO FOLLOW

Friday, April 30, 2010

Squire Trewlawny home after cutting his leg, just before he was about to have his first run. Still waiting on our last mare to foal. Lisathedaddy stood on her foal cutting his leg open which has needed careful stitching by our vet. He was allowed out for the first time yesterday after 3 weeks and went beserk. Looks like the foals will be in over the weekend as bad weather approaches. Our foal which had jaundice will have his blood test on Wednesday to see if he can go out with the other foals, we wait with anticipation.

Al Sirat did not run great on Sunday but we are sure will make amends next time as we have excuses (Plenty).

Yemeni Princess runs on Monday at Chepstow and we are looking for  BIG run from her.

Orphina is already a week late so fingers crossed she has it this week.
Yemeni Princess ran well for a long way in the week and has now qualified for handicaps, we have Al Sirat running today so fingers crossed that he runs a big race.

Kayf Tara Filly

This Kayf Tara filly was born last night and is very bright and healthy. We are all getting a little tired through lack of sleep but only 2 more foals due then a well earned break is needed I think.

Foal by Alflora

This foal was born on Saturday but has been ill. She is out of 24hour care and took her  first steps outside today!!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Thursday

Looks like the foal has made a full recovery after a good night last night. We are waiting on 2 mares to foal at the moment. Digyourheelsin, who is 3 weeks late and in foal to Kayf Tara, also Aikaterine a week late in foal to Overbury. Both are now in foaling boxes and under cameras.

Hoping to get foals out taday as rain has finally ceased although the frost is back. On the racing scene its open day in Lambourn on Friday so Brendan is schooling Al Sirat over hurdles today. He is a very nice horse for the future. Yemeni Princess is on target for a fillies maiden at the end of the month.

Psychosis

This half sister to Psychomodo by Classic Cliche is a month off running and is available on a free lease. Anyone wishing to get involved please contact me on 07831 428765.

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Tuesday

Foal had a good night and is making great progress, she will be moved out of 24 hour care and hopefully will make a full recovery. Which is great news and a lot less worry for us all.

It's too wet to turn the young foals out so they are getting very fresh and lively in their boxes especially the Kyllachy colt who tried to jump on Joanna last night as she was doing the late feed.

Ponte De Rosa worked very well yesterday and will go to Newmarket next month during the Craven Meeting. Yemeni Princess is back in full training and will run back end of April. Al Sirat is also due to run then so it could be a busy month for runners.

En Vacances foal filly by Alflora

Spent all Monday evening nursing En Vacances foal who took a turn for the worst. At the stroke of midnight she turned the corner and showed signs of improvement. This morning she is a differant filly, running round her box, alert and 100% happier.
GOOD NEWS!!!
Our 2yo Ponte De Rosa is due to do a piece of work today so will keep you posted regards that. Also Methodical who retired through injury is been covered by Norse Dancer.

Hoping to get the foals out as they were in all day yesterday due to the rain so they are very fresh.

Born Saturday, 6 weeks late and very weak. Could not stand to feed by itself for 12 hours, had to be helped. Seems to be doing fine now but will be a slow process.
